Cover illustrations for Svensk Bokhandels catalogue for the spring 2011, "Vårens Böcker 2011". Two illustrations - one for each side of the reversible catalogue. With all the freedom I got in this project I wanted the two cover sides to interact with each other and to shape the wish of touching someone on the "other side". I hoped to find the little point of contact by the hand that seeks contact through the little window that connects the two sides, through the book. I want to thank everyone at Svensk Bokhandel and the great graphic designer Linn Sandgren at Havanas for a great time during this project and for this commission of trust.
Here is an early concept sketch and later a more detailed sketch taken a bit further

This article for the magazine Tidskriften Socionomen was about paper work. The amount of paper work and follow ups have increased and requires more time from other commissions amongst social workers. A feeling of endless administration. Click here to view the final illustration in the portfolio.

Needlework for an artickle about rehabilitation and the recovery from abuse, to illustrate the recovery where the developement of a person's identity beyond the abuse is embroidered.

Final print from the poetic book "Bilious Blue" (Natur&Kultur).

How can it be like inside a chimney? This commission was for a poetic book, titled "Bilious Blue", written by Andy Coombs (Natur&Kultur), about a brave and dreamy nine year old girl. In the Illustration below she is inside a tall industrial chimney, surrounded by pictures of animals on a blanket wrapped around the inside of the chimney, woven in spider web. A black & white commission, forcing one to think beyond colors.
Here are som process shots and a breakdown from an early sketch to the final illustration.

For a very long time I have had this inner image of aloneness. I finally got the opportunity to to give it an entrance to this world. Below you find one half of the final work.

Cover Illustration and a serie of illustrations for this issue about mental disorders and the field of psychiatry today.

The theme of the issue was literature and tourism (#1, 2010). The interest in traveling to places where writers lived and created their stories, to experience the spirit that surrounded them. Explore under what circumstances they lived, the school they went to and the typewriter they wrote with etc. Maby it's about learning to know the favorite writer in a different, more personal level. For this reason I wanted to create a feeling of a dollhouse, open for viewers to look into and take part of a life. The size of a book was important for the feeling of a miniature home, where literature and environment are integrated as if the walls tell us new stories that we can fill in with. Special thanks to Malin Kivelä and Heidi Johansson at Kontur.

I recently finished this exciting commission for the cultural magazine Ord & Bild. The theme of the issue was "distance" and it offers so much thought-provoking and interesting reading, amongst others the text by Helena Granström - "Mellan dig och det levande finns alltid någonting dött". Many thanks to Martin Engberg at Ord & Bild for this commission of trust. Click here to view the final illustration and some final prints.

A simple tea party, from who's perspective? How can a tea party be perceived from different perspectives, apart from the joyful aspects? Maby the room feels enlcosed, like there are no windows or doorways that could relieve the cramped feeling a bit. Maby the chairs appear too small or the guests so frightenly large and from a noticeable fine behaving/sophisticated social class...

A new year with a new window to the rest of the world. For this new year I wanted to give the illustrations more air to breath. Simplicity and openness was what I strived for when creating this new site. I hope you'll find some air here too and a place where personal interpretations can take shape.

A simple navigation that takes the viewer on a journey through the images.

Best wishes for the new year to you all. It's been a while since last. The past moths I've amongst other things been working on a project for Karolinska Institutet, that is a medical university and center for medical training and research. First I would like to thank KI with special thanks to Emma Hägg and Sofia Lindberg for this opportunity and a great time during the project. The comission included a series of illustrations that represent the fifteen medical programmes on KI and a cover illustration for the upcoming catalogue, website and campaigns in 2010-2011.

Here is an initial sketch for one of the programmes on KI

It has been a great time trying to capture the passion and essence in each profession, keeping them all together as a series, expreimenting with textures and colors. The reference colors of KI are very different from the colors I usually work with in my illustrations, which made this project to a colorfull journey and experience. I hope to post some final prints as soon as the catalogue is printed.

I'm continually inspired by the subjects and content in Ny Tid. The cover illustration below is from the september issue, about how belonging to the different classes in society can affect the percpetion of one self and the opportunities in life - essay by Robert Åsbacka, writer and researcher in litterature. An early idea sketch, trying to work out the compositional elements and find the concept. I wanted to leave mutch space and freedom for the viewer to make a personal interpretation, just like stories do.

I want to share some of my thoughts and sketches here, when time gives me the opportunity. It's a rainy summer day, days like this are dedicated for new projects to take shape or old one's to be taken further. I started this project a while ago, it was a rainy day too actually. Here is an early sketch...

14 umbrellas have taken shape so far, one for every rainy day since I started this project. They will all contain a map - a guiding map for the lost moments in life. There will of course be a lost person, that haven't found his map in life yet or maybe momentarily lost it.
